I thought it would be fun to post a steamy scene from a mainstream, literary novel once a week. I wanted to start with Gone with the Wind, but then I realized I couldn’t do that because I don’t have the book handy. So I went to the pile of books I have stashed in the corner (casualties of a recent bookshelf collapse) and grabbed a book off the top of the pile.
From Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quinonez:
Blanca was in her second trimester and I found her incredibly sexy. I loved to make love to Blanca with her belly round as the moon. It was smooth and the feeling was of closeness. I wanted her to know that she was still desirable and that I wasn’t out screwing other women. I wanted her to know that I loved making love to her and that her body still excited me. Her breasts were full and her belly was so round and sex was great and different and screw all those men who won’t make love to their wives while they are pregnant.
There you have it. I’ve decided I will present these without comment (partially because I’m lazy, but also because over-analyzing can spoil the fun.)
